Peer support, from
people who get it.

We connect young caregivers with trained peer support volunteers who've lived through caregiving themselves; people close to your age, your campus, your situation.

How it works

Step 1

Apply

Caregivers and volunteers each fill out a short interest form. It only takes a few minutes.

Step 2

We review

Caregivers are reviewed and approved by our team. Volunteers are interviewed and complete training designed in partnership with the Ontario Caregiver Organization (OCO).

Step 3

Connect

Once approved, caregivers can find a peer supporter who fits their situation, at their school or elsewhere.

You're in good hands

Vetted & trained

Every volunteer is carefully interviewed and completes specialized training provided by the OCO.

Rooted on campus

The program started at Queen's University and is expanding to other campuses across Ontario.

Built by community

A partnership between QYCC and OCO, led by young people who've cared for loved ones themselves.

We're looking for volunteers and
student leaders, especially outside
Queen's.

If you've cared for a family member and you're at another university or college, this is a chance to bring peer support and caregiver advocacy to your own campus. Apply to be a volunteer and let us know you're interested!
